I just read the 4th of July posts. Very well said and concidered.
Empires are made to crumble, it's a fact. The only way to maintain control over huge areas is to be ruthless and totalitarian. But it can't be maintained. Witness the US, while we celebrate the birth of our country the death spiral has already begun.
